You shouldn't have to chase paperwork while you're sore

Work injuries come with forms, phone calls and certificates. That's a lot when you're in pain and trying to keep working.

We deal with the insurer side. Treatment requests, updates to your GP and employer, and a clear plan for getting back to work. You turn up and do the rehab.

“These guys are awesome. Looked after me, my wife and two sports mad boys.”

Sound familiar?

Hurt at work and not sure what happens next?

  • Your back or neck flares up at work and rest isn't fixing it
  • A shoulder, elbow or wrist that gets worse the more you use it
  • You're not sure your claim covers physio
  • You've got a certificate from your GP and no idea what's next
  • You want to get back to work without making it worse
  • An old work injury that never quite settled
How it works

Three steps from injury to back at work

1

Start your claim

Tell your employer, see your GP for a certificate, and lodge your claim. Bring your claim number to your first visit.

2

We assess and start treatment

You don't need a referral for physio. We work out what's going on, explain it plainly and get started. We send the request to the insurer when it's needed.

3

We keep everyone on the same page

We update your GP, employer and insurer so your treatment and your work plan line up. You keep getting stronger.

FAQs

Workers comp questions, answered

Still not sure where you stand? Give us a call and we'll talk it through.

Do I need a referral to see a physio for a work injury?
No. You don't need a GP referral to start physiotherapy. You do need to have lodged a workers compensation claim. Your GP still plays a big part, because they issue your certificate and help plan your return to work.
How many physio sessions does workers comp cover?
It depends on your injury and what the insurer approves. For a new injury that hasn't been treated before, up to 8 sessions can start without waiting for insurer pre-approval if treatment begins within three months of the injury. If you start later, it's up to 3. After that, we send a treatment request to the insurer for more.
Do I pay anything?
If your claim is accepted and the treatment is approved, we bill the insurer directly. Fees for covered treatment are set by SIRA, the NSW regulator, so you shouldn't be charged a gap. Got a question about your own claim? Call us before you book.
Can I choose my own physio?
Usually, yes. You can generally choose who treats you, as long as they're approved to treat workers compensation patients in NSW.
Is exercise physiology covered?
Yes, when your exercise physiologist is approved by SIRA and the treatment relates to your work injury. Exercise physiology is often used to rebuild strength and work capacity.
Is WorkCover the same as workers compensation?
Mostly, yes. WorkCover NSW was the old name. Today the scheme is run through icare and regulated by SIRA. Plenty of people still say WorkCover, and so do we.
What if my claim is declined?
Talk to your insurer and your GP about your options. You can still book with us privately, and we'll explain the cost before you start.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Your claim number, your insurer's details, your GP certificate if you have one, and any scans or reports. Wear something comfortable that lets us see the sore area. Want the full rundown? Read what physio is covered by WorkCover in NSW.
