What is an Exercise Physiologist?
An Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) is a university qualified allied health professional whose role is to help design, deliver and evaluate clinically safe and effective exercise interventions for people living with acute, sub-acute and chronic medical conditions, injuries, and
disabilities.
Exercise Physiologists improve people’s lives through quality education, lifestyle interventions, and evidence-based exercise prescription. Whether your appointment is for rehabilitation, management, prevention or performance, EP’s are here to help.
EPs assist individuals living with cardiovascular, metabolic, neurological, psychological, musculoskeletal, respiratory / pulmonary, cancers and various other conditions engage in autonomous, enjoyable, safe and life-enhancing movement for which there is evidence it may help improve clinical status and quality of life.
EPs are dual accredited, holding the foundational accreditation of an Accredited Exercise Scientist in addition to their EP status.
EP services are recognised and rebated by government and private organisations including Medicare, DVA, NDIS, Work Cover, private health funds and more.

Yes. Active Answers Health primarily provides exercise physiology services at our Seaforth clinic on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Most clients attend in-clinic sessions, allowing access to supervised exercise, specialised equipment, and structured progression in a supportive environment.
We offer one on one exercise physiology sessions, small group exercise classes, clinic based exercise programs with structured progression, and home visit exercise physiology when clinically appropriate. All programs are tailored to your goals, medical history, and current capacity.
Our clinic is based in Seaforth and we regularly see clients from across the Northern Beaches, including Balgowlah, Manly Vale, Brookvale, Fairlight, Allambie Heights, Beacon Hill, and Curl Curl. Home visits are available in surrounding suburbs when required.
Yes. While our main focus is clinic based exercise physiology, we also offer home visits across Seaforth and the Northern Beaches for clients with mobility limitations, post surgical needs, or specific circumstances requiring at home support.
Yes. Active Answers Health provides exercise physiology services for NDIS participants and works with self managed and plan managed clients. Programs focus on improving strength, mobility, independence, and functional capacity.
Yes. We provide exercise physiology services for Workers Compensation and CTP motor vehicle accident patients. Programs are aligned with return to work or return to function goals and coordinated with other healthcare providers when required.
Exercise physiology can assist with a wide range of conditions, including injury rehabilitation and post surgical recovery, chronic and persistent pain, diabetes and metabolic conditions, cardiovascular conditions, chronic health conditions and deconditioning, asthma and respiratory conditions, arthritis and joint conditions, long COVID and post viral fatigue, osteoporosis and bone health, disability and reduced functional capacity, and improving strength, balance, and injury prevention.
No referral is required for private exercise physiology sessions. For Medicare funded exercise physiology, a referral from your GP is required as part of a Chronic Disease Management plan to access rebates. Some funding providers such as NDIS, Workers Compensation, or CTP insurers may also require referral documentation or prior approval. Our team can assist with confirming requirements and managing the paperwork.
Yes. Exercise physiology is ideal for people who are new to exercise, returning after injury, or managing long term health conditions. Programs begin at an appropriate level and progress gradually to build confidence, strength, and physical capacity.
